The Frame – Dubai

On the ground floor, a museum will display Dubai’s development from being a fishing village to the current metropolis. Indeed, the frame also works as a line between the new Dubai, its hotels and its skyscrapers on one side, and the old residential neighborhood on the other side.
The Frame will cost approximately 43.5 million dollars and will be built in Zabeel Par, providing a 360-degree view of the city.
The project has sparked some controversies about copyrights between the architect, who desired a more minimalist steel structure, and the city of Dubai. This seemed to have partially caused the delay in its completion. In fact, the building was supposed to be built by the end of 2015. It is now 80 per cent completed, and it is about to be opened sometimes in November 2017. Apparently, the delays are also due to the realization of its gold stainless steel cladding, immune from fire. The golden rings on the side of the bridge were inspired by the Expo 2020 logo. For sure, once completed, the Frame with its golden leaves is meant to shine as one of the next Dubai’s landmarks.
