The main idea is to integrate collective commuting with individual freedom. “With Hyperloop One we have given form to a mobility ecosystem of pods and portals, where the waiting hall has vanished with the waiting itself”, says the architect Bjarke Ingels from BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group).
Hyperloop will reduce transporting times, the Danish studio BIG wants to further reduce, if not eliminate, waiting times for passengers.
BIG, who also designed the Opportunity Pavilion, and envisioned the Mars Science city project, will once again offer the innovative design for the system of traveling units within the Hyperloop. The traveling units, or PODS, will accommodate up to six people with different seating arrangements: from those who travel solo to those in a group, from those who travel for business to those looking for a casual environment. The pods are contained within a transporter, a pressure vessel attaches to a chassis for levitation and propulsion that can reach extremely high speed.
